Natural Disasters Increasingly Linked To Climate Change
Climate change linkage to natural disasters has been confirmed in a new report based on analysis of 59 studies of current happenings (as against future projections). 41 of these resulted in more intense long term climate changes with harm summarized as US$ 8 billion and 4000 lost lives.
Advances in Climate Science allows scientists to better study heat waves and the more complex storms and hurricane and establish definite link with climate change. Studies confirm that climate change is affecting heatwaves, droughts and rainfall right now. The further and faster the climate change, larger the effect. The best way to restrain climate change is to control emissions.
Understanding such linkage is critical for policy makers and citizens worldwide to appreciate effects of climate change and take preventive and mitigating measures.
